Frequently asked questions
General
-
Getting started is simple! Reach out through our contact form and tell us a little about yourself, your goals, and what you’re looking to achieve. We’ll discuss your needs, explain our coaching options, and help you determine the best approach for your fitness journey.
-
Absolutely not! We work with individuals of all fitness levels, from complete beginners to experienced athletes. Whether you’re stepping into a gym for the first time or looking to take your training to the next level, we’ll design a program that meets you where you are and progresses with your abilities.
-
We believe effective training requires more than simply following a workout. Our approach combines individualized programming, movement assessments, evidence-based training methods, and ongoing support to create a plan tailored specifically to you.
We focus on helping you understand your body, develop sustainable habits, and achieve results that extend well beyond the gym.
-
Results vary depending on your starting point, goals, training consistency, nutrition, and lifestyle. While some improvements in strength, energy, and overall fitness may be noticeable within the first few weeks, more significant physical changes typically require several months of consistent effort.
Our focus is on helping you achieve meaningful, sustainable results rather than promoting unrealistic expectations or quick fixes.
-
Yes! We recognize that nutrition plays a significant role in achieving your fitness goals. We provide nutritional guidance, education, and practical strategies to help you develop sustainable eating habits that complement your training and lifestyle.
Our goal is to help you make informed decisions without relying on unnecessarily restrictive diets.
In-person personal training
-
Your initial session is designed to help us learn as much about you as possible before developing your training program.
We’ll discuss your goals, exercise history, and any physical limitations before guiding you through a movement assessment to evaluate your mobility, stability, and movement patterns.
You can expect some light physical activity, but nothing overly strenuous. Following your assessment, we’ll discuss our findings, recommend an appropriate training approach, and review the next steps for getting started.
-
Yes! We offer both private one-on-one personal training and two-on-one partner training.
One-on-one sessions provide individualized attention and programming tailored to your specific goals. Partner training allows two individuals to train together while still receiving professional coaching and exercise modifications appropriate to their individual abilities.
-
Not necessarily! Our facility is fully equipped for your scheduled personal training sessions.
Whether you would benefit from an additional gym membership depends on your individual goals, how frequently you train with us, and your activity level outside of your sessions.
We’ll help you determine whether additional independent training would be beneficial for your progress.
-
The ideal training frequency depends on your goals, experience, availability, and activity level outside of your sessions.
Some clients benefit from multiple sessions per week, while others achieve excellent results with fewer sessions supplemented by independent exercise.
We’ll work with you to determine a realistic training frequency that supports your goals and fits your schedule.
-
Yes. We understand that everyone has unique physical capabilities, movement restrictions, and training considerations.
Our assessment process helps us identify areas that may require additional attention so we can modify exercises and develop an appropriate training program.
When necessary, we may recommend obtaining clearance from your healthcare provider or working alongside a qualified medical professional.
Online Coaching
-
Online coaching provides a personalized training experience without requiring you to attend scheduled, in-person appointments.
Following an initial consultation and assessment, we’ll develop a training program tailored to your goals, experience, available equipment, and schedule.
You’ll receive your workouts through our coaching platform, along with exercise demonstrations, progress tracking, and ongoing communication to ensure you’re supported throughout your fitness journey.
-
Unlike a generic workout program, online coaching is an ongoing, individualized service.
Your program is designed specifically for your goals, abilities, and available equipment. As you progress, we make adjustments to your training based on your performance, feedback, and changing needs.
You’ll also receive professional guidance and accountability, eliminating much of the guesswork involved in planning and managing your own fitness routine.
-
No! Your program can be designed around the equipment and space you have available.
Whether you train at a commercial gym, have a fully equipped home gym, or own just a few pieces of exercise equipment, we’ll build a program that makes the most of your resources.
-
Online coaching is an excellent solution for individuals who need greater flexibility.
Rather than committing to scheduled appointments or spending time commuting to a training facility, you can complete your workouts whenever and wherever it’s most convenient.
We’ll design your program around your availability so that training fits into your lifestyle rather than the other way around.
-
Online coaching is ideal for individuals who want professional guidance, personalized programming, and accountability while maintaining the flexibility to train independently.
Whether you’re a busy professional, a frequent traveler, or someone who prefers working out on your own schedule, online coaching provides the structure and support needed to make consistent progress without the limitations of scheduled appointments.
BJJ and Athletic Performance
-
Not at all! While we offer specialized strength and conditioning for Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu practitioners, our performance-based training principles can benefit athletes from a wide variety of sports.
Our programming is tailored to the specific physical demands of your sport, helping you develop the strength, power, mobility, and conditioning needed to perform at your best.
-
Traditional strength training often emphasizes building muscle and increasing strength in individual exercises.
Our BJJ performance programming takes a more comprehensive approach by addressing the physical demands of grappling.
We incorporate strength, explosive power, rotational movement, mobility, stability, and muscular endurance to help you develop physical qualities that translate to your performance on the mats.
-
Our goal is to complement your time on the mats, not compete with it.
We consider your current training schedule, experience, recovery needs, and competition goals when developing your program.
By managing training volume, intensity, and exercise selection, we aim to improve your physical performance without creating unnecessary fatigue that could negatively affect your Jiu-Jitsu training.
